CASE STUDY 2

Case Study: Broughton Care Home Heating Upgrade

Introduction: Broughton Care Home is a residential care facility for seniors located in the United Kingdom. The care home building was previously heated using 22 x 2KW Dimplex PLX200 electric heaters. However, the building's heating bill was high, costing £42,398 annually. To address this, Park Hills Care Home decided to upgrade its heating system to a more energy-efficient solution.

The Solution: Broughton Care Home switched its heating system to the Bezzo Alpha Series heating panels. The heating panels collectively consume 19 kW per day and are powered by electricity.

Results: The switch to the Bezzo Alpha Series heating panels resulted in significant energy savings for Broughton Care Home. The new heating system consumed 19 kW per hour, compared to the previous system which consumed 44 KW per hour. This resulted in a reduction in daily energy consumption of 25 KW (57%). Based on the daily energy consumption and the price of electricity, the new heating system was estimated to cost £50.16 per day against the old cost of £116.16 per day. This equates to an annual saving of £24,091 by switching to infrared heating..

Conclusion: The switch to the Bezzo Alpha Series heating panels has resulted in a saving of 57% on Broughton Care Home's annual heating bill. This demonstrates the significant energy and cost savings that can be achieved through the use of energy-efficient heating solutions. The new heating system has not only reduced the building's energy consumption and costs, but it has also provided a more comfortable and consistent heating experience for the residents and staff at Broughton Care Home.
